  1. Well I love doing the Oragon Trail. Because we know both sides of the story. We know the native Amircan side. And we are learning the pioneer side. The fun facts that I learned are: That some people ride in the wagons but most walked all the way! And that the native amicans were nice. See you tomorrow!!!

  3. The Oregon Trail became one of the main migration routes that pioneers crossed on their way to the west. The Oregon Trail was over 2,000 miles west through territories that would later become Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, and Oregon. It began in Independence Missouri. The pioneers crossed the trail before winter or it would be to hard to go over mountains.

  4. I defiantly love the Organ Trial. I think it is going to be fun making the stories. There are about seven things that the Pioneers died from. They died because of lightning, falling out of the wagon and getting run over by a weal, drowning in the river, accidentally getting shot by the wake up call, native americans and diseases. It took the Pionears about five months to reach their destination. It was hard for the Pioneers but they were good sports.

Got to go see you all tomorrow ;)

  5. I think the Oregon trail is very interesting! I thought that it was sad that some babies fell out of the wagon and and got run over! I thought it was cool that the Native Americans were nice to the pioneers in the beginning! I felt really bad for the pioneers that walked to Oregon and then later the rail road was finished! I also thought it was nice of the pioneers to be nice to their animals! Bye,see you guys tomorrow!

  6. I think the Oregon Trail is cool. I learned that some kids and babies got ran over which was very sad to me. And some people had a hard time getting across rivers so they had to leave some stuff behind. I wonder what they would replace for oxen if one of them passed away.

  7. My new learning was that settlers came to Oregon on wagons. Once they completed there journey the railroad system was completed. The settlers became mad because they spent their time coming to Oregon when they could have waited for the railroad to be finished to go to Oregon. There where many problems for example there where accidents with shooting, disease spread, rattle snakes were everywhere, and people were drowning in water. My wonders were how long would did it take to get to Oregon on the train and how long would it take to get to Oregon on foot.

  8. I wonder if modern people like us went on the Oregon Trail.
I also wonder if there are more dangers in the Oregon trail that the pioneers didn't go through. If you know please tell me.

  9. My new learning was louis and Clark had discovered all the land. I also learned that it takes about 5 months for the journey.there are so much accidents in the journey. Such as rattle snakes, lighting, drowning, and diseases. They kids and the grownups have to walk wile the old people and the babies sit in the wagon. The Horses work the wagon.

  11. I learned that there were so many dangers on the Oregon Trail, we could easily list a lot! Drowning, getting run over, getting thrown off a horse, snowstorms, disease, rattlesnakes and getting struck by lightning! I also learned that they brought their farm animals with them. That's funny! HOW could you bring a chicken in your wagon without it waking you up at night?! It is so cool (and exhausting!)that the trip is 2,000 miles!!!!!!

  14. I learned that there were like seven dangers on the Oregon Trail. Our class can probably list a of them in under two minutes maybe a little bit more. Here they are you can get run over by a wagon wheel, throne of a horse, drowning, snowstorms, struck by lightning, rattlesnakes and the biggest one of all is........... DISEASE!!! I also learned that people would bring farm animals on the trip. They would bring CHICKENS, OXES, COWS AND MORE. The night would be so loud with all the animals! I would be very mad if I just finished on the Oregon Trail and then they invented trains!!! WHAT. Going a long the 2,000 mile trip would be so tiering and boing

  17. So far, I think the Oregon trail has more badness then goodness. One out of ten pioneers died on the trip, there were diseases like cholera, children could fall and get crushed by wagon wheels, and those are only some of the problems. The most dangerous animal on the trail for the pioneers was the rattlesnake. Usually there were wagon lines and every body wanted to be in front because the dust kicked up by the wagons in front got into the wagons behind. Most wagons took turns being up front but sometimes the most highly respected wagon was always in front. Most families took farm animals like oxen, mules, chickens, and hogs. I think most of the pioneers were going ugh when the railroad was built in 1886. I bet the pioneers wished they could have waited and just taken the train instead. I am so exited to learn more about the Oregon trail!

  19. 1 of my wonders is how did they feel on the journey bord, sad, happy, mad? The 2nd thing is what did they wair clothes to keep the heat off, jeans, boots? the 3rd is how did they fined there way? map, path?Ok now my NL. I NEVER knew that children that fell got crushed by the heavy weels of the wagon trains. I never knew that so many people died going there i think the first time there is more badness than goodness in the Oregon trail there is diseases like choerla, getting crushed, rivers accidentally gunshots and more. Its best to be in the front of the wagon train line because you wont half to handle all the dust that gets kicked up. I wish they could have taken the train instead. I CANT WATE TO LERN MORE ABOUT THE OREGON TRAIL!
