Perimeter and Area in the REAL WORLD

Can you think of a real world example when someone would need to know the perimeter of a shape?
Can you think of a real world example when someone would need to know the area of a space?
Hmmmm.....
Think of a job that would use these skills!

  3. I think someone who design swimming pools would use perimeter to know how many tiles to buy.

  4. If the Chelsea soccer team needed a goal 9 feet wide and 6 feet high then they would have a perimeter of 30 so the goal designer would be told to check it by making sure the perimeter would be 30 feet and then after he finished the Chelsea people would measure the perimeter to check if he got it right and if he did then they would have a brand new goal

  5. If someone was getting a cover for their swimming pool then they'd have to find out how big the area was to get it right otherwise they might have a 2 by 2 cover instead when they'd be needing a 9 by 9 feet cover
