Kenya’s elephants and rhinos have been hunted for their valuable ivory tusks for a long time. To protect these animals, Kenya has made the ivory trade illegal.
Two popular sports in Ireland are Hurling and Gaelic Football. Hurling has been played for close to 2,000 years and the women's version is called Camogie.
Ireland has fewer people now than it did in the 1840s, when many Irish left the country because of famine and economic problems. Ireland had a population of more than 8 million people in the 1840s, compared to around 4 million now.
I learned a really cool recipe on culture grams it looks very tasty:
Main Dish Irish Stew Note: It is said that there are as many recipes for Irish stew as there are families in Ireland. This is one family's recipe. The stew is usually served with brown bread. Ingredients: 3/4 pounds lamb, cut into 1-inch cubes Salt and pepper to taste 4 carrots, peeled 2 onions, sliced finely 1 1/2 cups pearl barley 2 cups chicken or vegetable stock 4 large potatoes, cut into 2-inch chunks Chopped parsley for garnish Directions:
Sprinkle the lamb with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat the oil and fry the lamb until the outside is browned. Place the lamb on a plate, and add the onions to the pan. Fry until soft and translucent, scraping the bottom of the pan. Add more oil if needed. Add the lamb, carrots, onions, barley, and stock to the skillet. Cook for 30 minutes. Add the potatoes and more water, if needed. Cook until the potatoes and pearl barley are soft and the meat is tender. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
Ireland is famous for a lot of things like the blarney stone and leprechauns. Did you know that the famous leprechaun lucky from lucky charms cereal isn't at all like an original Irish leprechaun and lucky charms didn't even originate in ireland the original leprechaun legend is that they would capture fairies and live in trees. Lucky doesn't do any of that. But if you think about it Lucky does want the lucky charms and those are like fairies.
Kenya’s population of just over 41 million people is divided among at least 42 ethnic groups.
