I like your thoughtful comment, Hudson! I also like how he reads detective books and uses what he learns in his own life! You could try this strategy in Writer's Workshop!
I think the comments that Steve makes about his mom's boyfriend Rick are HILARIOUS! He calls him names that are not very kind. But, I understand why he feels uncomfortable about getting to know Rick. It reminds me of Leigh in Dear Mr. Henshaw. Leigh feel jealous and annoyed that his dad is getting to know another boy.
I completely agree! I know how frustrating it might get once you find out that the person your mom is dating is rude and your mom doesn't notice! Also when somebody pretends to be on your side and you find out that they really aren't!
I love the way they put detective music and a lot of suspicion into the trailer and they also put actual pictures that they found or took themselves. I think that anybody who saw it would pick up that book immediately!
I agree the trailer is great and it doesn't give away barely anything from the story! I think it was funny when Steve listened to the radio hearing rick and he started driving. I think that it was a a smart idea for Steve to put his backpack on the gas so he could see where he was going.
The book trailer was very good and it made me very curious even though I have already read the book and also it barely gives away anything but the book trailer was awesome. Because it was straight on the story line!
The book trailer was very good and it was very intriguing even though I have already read the book and it barely gives away anything which is great. That's because it was straight on the story line!
Some reason the trailer is not working on my computer but what I like about just the book itself is, that Mac Barnett is a good at describing the setting and how he makes the story really interesting and he describes what's going on in good words!!!
My favorite part of the book is when Steve got on top of the statue and told what happened to the quilt. I also really like when he was driving the car and Rick was on his rusty bike chasing after him. It was really entertaining and funny to read. I liked this book very much and would recommend to friends that have not read it yet.
I loved it. The plot is great. It's clever because he makes it stereo typical but at the same time it's the opposite cliché. He reads stereo typical books.
ReplyDeleteWhich makes him think real life is stereo typical. It is sometimes but other times that's what gets him caught. It's overall a good book.
