The Small Things

This morning on KLS, Mrs. Babine talked about how sometimes in life it is the small things you do for others that count.

With the holiday season coming up, what are some small things you can do for others? Write at least 3 complete sentences.  Be very thoughtful about what you write.

  1. I agree that the small things in life are very meaningful. I went to watch the Texans game with my dad on Monday evening. Just sitting together and watching the game was so nice. He has been sick, so just being near him made me happy. My mom said that he looked forward to me coming over all day long. Having company when you don't feel good can be like a ray of sunshine on a very cold day!

  2. One time my Grandma had a back surgery and I wanted her to not feel alone so I told my mom to bring a little teddy bear to make her feel better and she felt a lot better. I felt so good about doing that. My mom took a picture of her with the teddy bear and my mom said that she felt a lot better and didn't feel alone.

  3. My great grandma keeps falling and having to get surgery and every time she gets hurt we go visit her in Phoenix. And when she sits down she lets me take a tern in her wheelchair. Once their was a lady and she always frond at people but I got her to smile! And once we went to her old apartment and I played the piano for all the old people and after each song they clapped! And one time I gave her a charm bracelet for Christmas and a pop up card for Thanksgiving. No matter what I give makes her happy and when she is happy I am happy. I always feel good when I help others!

  4. That man that you were talking about obvisly is not dishonest, a man who had tears of joy over a card would not give it back or throw it on the ground and ask for money, I mean it was probilly the first time he got a holiday card in years! If I were him I would probilly do the same thing he did to. Bryce was smart to give him the card because he actully got happyer and he didn't have any cash with him.

  6. There are many small things that people could do for others that make them happy. I could hold the door for others. I also could help them get up when they fall down. Another way is to color a picture and give it away to someone. I could help others and what I mean by that is to be kind, that's the most important thing. So what I'm trying to say is that you can't do any of those ideas without being KIND!

  9. There are many things you can do, big and small. From cards to big presents. We are so lucky to get gifts because some people don't receive gifts. It doesn't matter if it is big or small, it is important. Our neighbors are an old couple that we like to give cards, flowers and food to. I also just tell her hi and give her a hug and it makes her happy. It always makes me feel good to give something to a person, whether it is big or small.

  10. Small thing do count I can think of 1.000.000 little things that I've done.

I saw a lost dog on the street and my brother and I made my mom turn around and we called the owner and they were so happy we found their dog.

My mom is a part of an organization called Heroes for Children and I helped These girls named Sarah, Cynthia and Sandra she had cancer. We went to Walmart and picked out clothes and toys for them. Then the organization threw a party and we got to meet the girls and they opened their presents and at the end they said they were so thankful.

  12. I definitely agree the small things in life are very meaningful and important. Once an old lady in my building tripped and fell. She broke about three fingers, her knee, and her hip. I felt sorry for her so I baked her cookies. When I delivered them, she was so happy. To see her that happy made my day. Over the holidays, I plan to bake more cookies for residents in my building and help the Salvation Army with my dad by ringing the red bell.
