As we all know, both fractions and decimals represent parts of a whole. Which do you see more in your everyday life...fractions or decimals. Please give some example. Do you think fractions or decimals are more useful? Please share your thoughts.

  1. They are almost the same but I love decimals because it can help you with money and money is important for life. I also love them because it can make the number longer and that can mke it a harder quistion I love hard quistions! Although I really like fractions I think they are just fun to learn.

  2. I think decimals because if your at a store buying something it would say like 2.35 dollars. In math. And in softball for the batting average.

    1. I think fractions are every whare so say you have a pie that's worth 7 pices of pie so you take a slice and there you have a fraction and the decimals help you with money

  3. I see decimals everywhere because whenever I go to the Corner Store and want to buy something I see decimals like 2.99, 4.79, etc.

  4. I see both a lot. I see decimals at gas stations because money is a decimal. I also see fractions a lot. The pizza we get is cut into eighths. Once I eat one it creates a fraction. I think I see decimals more than fractions.

  6. Hi everyone! I think that I see decimals more than fractions. I see decimals everywhere, like at the grocery store, I see decimals on cans of food or soda, like 4.5 ounces. They can be used for measuring sugar if you are baking a cake. On some measuring spoons, instead of 1/2 of a cup, they say 1.5 of a cup. Bye!! 3-P ROCKS AND SO DOES HAZEL STEWART! ;)

  7. I see decimals a lot more than fractions. I see Decimals at the grocery store the gas station on price tags and at my house. I only see fractions in my kitchen for some reason.

  8. I think fractions are everywhere. For example, if you take a picture with 5 people in it and cut out 3, that is 3 out of 5 (3/5). But also, a gas station is a good example for decimals.

  14. I think fractions are better
Because they are easier to understand.
Because they are easier to read.
I see fractions more than decimals in everyday life for example half of an apple or on a milk carton.
