Maker Space Fun!

     We have had a blast sampling our Maker Space this week! Please share how working in Maker Space makes you feel. What do you like about it? If you could create your own Maker Space for Kinkaid, what would it be like? You may also tell us about your creations!

  2. I like the freedom of maker space because it lets our imagination go crazy. I think we should have one in the room, and I would imagine it to have science, questions, art and music. Today I made a clay bunny, a robot made of clay, cotton balls, googly eyes, and toothpicks. Also I made a thing out of dots candy, toothpicks, wire, and a pipe cleaner.

  4. I love Maker Space because it is a chance for use to explore are minds and find out what we can do with are hands. I think that it would be cool to have passes to the maker space during big room. Also I think it will be fun with an recycling station and an iMovie station.

  5. Hi everyone! I absolutely LOVE Maker Space! There is no right or wrong to what you are creating! Today we read a book with Mrs. Buettner, and it was called "What Do You Do With An Idea?" I personally thought that it was an awesome book. It was about a little boy who had an idea, and he thought that it was strange, so he ignored it. I think that the message in that book was: if you have an idea, don't walk away from it. There's a good chance that you can change the world! In my amount of time at Maker Space, I created a little person, and a "Call On Me". A Call On Me is just 1 battery, a LED light, and some clay. When you press on the wire, the LED lights up, and your teacher notices. Then, all they have to do is call on you! No more raising hands for students! If I could make my own Maker Space, I would make it very, very bright and colorful. And I would add more LAED lights and batteries. I LOVE MAKER SPACE!!! Bye! 3-P ROCKS! [|:?)}

The materials I used were clay, candy dots, cotton balls, foil, pipe cleaners, tooth picks, rubber bands and tape. I think we should have maker space at school. 3-P ROCKS!

  7. Maker Space rules! It is so fun! You can let your imagination go to outer space!!!!! If I could make the maker space in Kinkaid it would have white walls and sections were you can do art and science and even draw on the walls! (Don't try that at home!) Ta Ta Glitter Girl a.k.a Caroline

  9. Maker space is so awesome you can make what ever you want if you can dream it you can do it.I can't believe we didn't think of this before it should be a class we go to like music and art. Sometimes you want to mess around and do stuff that you couldn't do before with any thing you can think of from paper clips to cotton balls. Like Mer mere made a space dog. I think kinkaid should have maker space not just for 3rd graders it should be for all of lower school!

And it would be one of our specials because on fridays we don't have anything after lunch so I really think that would be fun!!!!!!!!!! A lot of us made interesting animals like mine! Mine is named Sistamo!

  16. I really like Maker-Space because I get to use my imagination. I normally would do arts and crafts at Maker-Space. I'd like Maker-Space to be a specials class like music and spanish.
    During those 20 minutes I made four characters I had in my imagination. I also liked other peoples creations. For example Sam's creation- Little Jimmy, Tyler's creation- a field goal, Read's creation- Stevey Joe and Carter's invention- a remix of Little Jimmy. I love Maker-Space!!!

  17. I love makers space because it let's your imagination run wild and it teaches you that everthing is helpful one way or another. In makers space I made two things. The first one's name is Jimmy the second one's name was Billy Bob Joe. I made Jimmy out of clay, foil, thub tacks, googly eyes and the candy called dots. I made Billy Bob Joe out of clay, foil, duct tape, cotton swab, puff ball, googly eyes, tooth pick and dots. Bye!
