We are getting better and better at choosing just right books for ourselves. We area also getting so much better about reading from a variety of genres!
As you all know, I personally LOVE realistic fiction. That is my "go to" genre! But, I have also been reading nonfiction and biographies lately. I am always reading cookbooks and Time Magazine.
Please share what you are currently reading or just finished reading. We can't wait to get some great recommendations!
I just finished reading Open House. I got the recommendation from a website that I really like. This is a realistic fiction book. It was the story of a young mom struggling to pay her bills. She decided to let someone live in her house and pay rent. She ended up becoming great friends with the border. This book was laugh out loud funny. For example, the main character was lonely, so she called a shopping catalogue phone number just to talk to someone! I am also reading a new cookbook called Cooking for Jeffrey. It has many delicious recipes! I am planning on reading an historical fiction book next.
ReplyDeleteRight now I am reading a book called Crenshaw. I am also listening to an audio book called A Dog On His Own. I like to have one book with pages and a book to listen to. Both my books I am reading are animal fiction.
ReplyDeleteI have been reading a variety of books such as TFK, fiction and more. Right now I am reading The Mercy Watson series. It is a fiction series with a pig as the main character. It's easy for me to read independently when I have my 20 minutes of reading after school. When I finish the last book, I'm planning to read another book by the same author called Leroy Ninker Saddles Up.
ReplyDeleteI have been reading a few books. The books are called Owls, Pumpkins, and a Dog on His Own. I like to read books on animals and books with facts and information. I am trying to get back into fiction books because I have been reading a ton of books with facts and information.
ReplyDeleteHi! I have been reading Jake Maddox books. The topic of my book is football. It is called Home Field Football. It is about this boy named Mason who just moved to a new town called Nowheresville and it only has 22 seventh graders. That is all I know about the book so far. I have read a lot of Jake Maddox books. The last one that I read is called Hockey Meltdown which was about a boy who played hockey and he breaks his arm and then something big happens but I wont spoil it. The next Jake Maddox book I am going to read is called Batter Up and I think it is about baseball. I recommend these books to all the boys in the class who like sports. I hope you like your books! ReplyDeleteI just finished Jedi Academy. I am now reading The True Story of Red Riding Hood. I love any kind of fiction book. Sometimes I will be in for a biogrofie at any time but very little of nonfiction book.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading nonfiction and fiction books. I sometimes read biographies and listen to audio books. My favorite book is "Game Changers". It's about a boy named Ben who is short and small. Ben wants to be the quarterback on the football team but every coach he plays for thinks he's to small. The starting quarterback on was not playing well so the coach gave Ben a chance to play his dream position in the Super Bowl. Ben makes an amazing pass for a touchdown and his team wins the game.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoy reading Jake Maddox books because they are about sports and always include a good lesson. History books are fun to read. I have learned so much about the past and how our country was formed. I am currently reading a book called "Ghost" which is about a boy who is African American and is made fun of. He has a hard time in life because he is poor. His track teammates make fun of him. He is better than his teammates at running. I am not finished with this book but so far it is interesting.
I just finished the Hunters Code. It's a really good book đ because it teaches you the hunters code. I just started Behind the plate and The little league World Series. I am in the middle of Hamster Princess. Hamster Princess is a really good book. I also finished Best of the best. Best of the Best is about a boy named Josh who loves baseball he makes it to the World Series. I don't remember if he wins or not but he is really good at baseball. His best friend plays on the same team as him.
ReplyDeleteHi! I am reading sports biographies and Jake Maddox books. The people that I am reading about are LeSean McCoy and Dwight Howard. and my Jake Maddox is about Bull riding and Paintball. I did Paintball in Colorado. I had a reading conference with Ms.P. and we read a book about Snakes.đ
ReplyDeleteRight now I am finished with the 3 Lola Levine books in our classroom. Personally I now really love the Lola Levine series. They are about a girl name Dolores Levine, but she prefers to be called Lola. So Lola is part of soccer team called the Orange Smoothies. She loves soccer, writing in her diary, doing art and she is best friends with Josh Blot, the Principal's son. I had really good time reading them. If they are any other Lola Levine books out there I would love to read them! So I 'll keep an eye out for any Lola Levine books! Also I am going to read for my 20 mins of homework reading a Dear Molly, Dear Olive book. Its tittle is Molly Meets Trouble. I have read one of the Dear Molly, Dear Olive series and I liked it. It was interesting. It is not my favorite series so far... I have also been reading another series called Flying Eye books. I have read 2 of them so far and they are full of adventure!!! They are amazing. I really, really, like them! I am also reading 2 other books that are starting out okay but I know they have to finish with a good ending hopefully! But to be honest I'm liking the books I'm reading now! They are all amazing. I am reading 2 realistic fiction such as the Lola Levine books and the Dear Molly, Dear Olive. I like my books!!!

ReplyDeleteI Am reading woof i have not gotten so fair in the book put i just finished commander and cheese it is a really good series it is about these 3 mice and they go explore the white house. I LOVE READING!!!
ReplyDeleteI just read little league world series and Liam played in the world series and lost to his cousin Carter. Liam was happy his cousin Carter won and sad he lost. He got to move back to where Carter lives. I also read a book called home field football and the main character Sean had a coach that did not like football and his team did not know how to play. After practice was over they all went to his house and they practiced a lot and got much better. They played in there first game and won 31 to 28. It was a good book. I just got a new audio book called behind second base. I cant wait to listen to it. I cant wait for 30-G.
ReplyDeleteHi! I love reading. Right now I am reading a good diet. Nonfiction: Mister President The Story of Ronald Reagan. I am currently reading about his childhood . He admired football and had 1 brother, a mom, and a dad. Realistic fiction: A Tough Nut to Crack. It's about a city girl named Bell. She has a brother who is 8 and is a smarty pants . She educates her sister about diffrent things like helicopters. She has one grandpa who she really never got to know well except when he makes her end up in Kentucky. All she knew about Kentucky was that it was more of a country life, Abraham Lincon was born there, and it was called the blue grassed state. I'm on the 8th chapter. Mallory on the Move. Mallory McDonald does not want to move. She planned the whole summer with her best friend and her mom told her too late. No one understands her, not her brother, nor her mom, nor her dad. Only her best friend understands. Even worse Mallory always likes to have a girl neighbor but this time no girls but a boy. I finished this one actually and trilyon enjoyed Äąt, so I deffinetly recommend it to anyone. Bye!

ReplyDeleteI am reading a Jake Madox book called beach bully it is about a boy who just moved to Santiago from Connecticut and wanted to try surfing because he snowboarded at his old house and thought that surfing would be like snowboarding. So one day he went down to the beach and saw some boys about his age so he went down and swam out to a big wave the boys stopped laughing and turned around he did not know he to wax his bord before you go surfing so he flew off. The boys laughed now you go read the rest it is so good!
ReplyDeleteI just finished a book call Soccer Show-off by Jake Madox. It is about a girl named Gina who wins a soccer game but does it all by her self. By not passing to anyone. Gina soon realizes this and made it up to her team by giving other people a chance.I really liked this book.
