We have been learning new information on the amazing countries of Egypt and Iceland! Many of us did not have much background knowledge on these countries including Ms. Papadakes.

Please share at least two pieces of new learning about each country. Also, you may include a few wonders!

  4. My favorite facts are that in Iceland a volcano erupts every 4 years, in Egypt they love to play soccer and Iceland is considered part of Europe. It was surprising to hear that Iceland has no military. I had fun learning about both of these special places and I am so excited for I-Fair!

  6. I think that how Egypt loves soccer is so cool. I'm hoping to learn more about the Volcanos in Iceland. I thought it was cool how Icelanders have one sibling. It's different how everyone has to learn how to swim in school. I wonder why Texas and Iceland are about the same size.

  13. I have learned a lot from Iceland and Egypt! I am going to do 3 facts that stand out about Iceland and Egypt. First is Iceland number 3, a Volcano erupts every 4 years. 2, only 7 wild animals can be found in Iceland just like arctic foxes, mink, brown rats, black rats, field mice, house mice, and reindeer. 1, they have no Military. I wonder how do they stay safe? Now we do Egypt. Number 3, the United States is 10 times bigger than Egypt. 2, in February it is 57 degree F. 1, kids love fried chicken, fries, potato chips, and candy. And finally my wonder, what types of animals are there?

  16. First, my wonders about Egypt, though being in the Sahara Desert and being a ore mining and oil fracking country, is denser than most European countries which is weird because Europe is the densest continent and Egypt is in Africa the least densely populated continent and Egypt is not even the densest country in Africa. Now onto my Icelandic wonders first how does Iceland only have 6% of its citizens being farmers if it does not import that much, also how does Iceland have the largest glacier if it is smaller than Louisiana. Next, my new learning about Iceland the children have to learn to swim during school, also Iceland was a poor longer than it was wealthy, Icelanders enjoy the 5th longest life but are poorer than the United States of America which is not saying much Canada is poorer than the United States of America. Iceland is so healthy that they decided to drink coke instead of milk and candy instead of fish. Next Egypt has more people than Texas which has 27,904,000 people, California which has 37,586,000 people and Florida who has 21,956,000 people combined, though it is only ten square kilometers larger than Texas. Modern Egyptians have on average three siblings which is a little amount compared to Africa where on average it is five siblings. Also on my free time I studied Egypt and I found out on average Egyptians are not healthy they have 34% of people are obese United States it is only 30%. Egypt also is now a ore and oil mining country not a farming or a lumber country like it used to be.
