Today we had an all Lower School Art Car Parade! It was a fabulous experience for all involved. We learned a lot about the history of the Art Car Parade from Ms. Mary Forbes, the Assistant Director of the Art Car Museum.

Today was awesome every one got see my art car and me and the other ones. My favorite part was learning about the over cars and looking up close.

DeleteI think it was a great experience with the art cars. I made a snake car. I think it is was fun to have our very own annual art car parade that was really broadcasted! My favorite real art car was Dragon Fire, it was so cool that fire comes out the back. I also liked the banana and the Radio Fiyer

DeleteI had an amazing time. I hope I get on tv tonight. I got my idea by looking at some art cars i saw a lot of animals so i decided on a really cool animal the CHEETAH !! I really enjoyed the parade and can not wait for next year I have some great idea`s like soccer Mom I also really think ms. Taylor`s idea was really good my favorite part was when we got to start building the art cars.

ReplyDeleteI loved seeing the art cars they were so cool!
My favorite was the banana car and the ice cream truck. They were both so cool! I was the one who asked the guy who owned the fire flame one to try and make the flames come out but it didn't work. Today was so much fun! I am going to thank Mrs. Taylor for doing this for us It was such a great experience getting to see all the cars. Also not to forget thank you Blake for bringing your family's art car it was really cool. I hope I got to be on T.V.

DeleteI got the idea by thinking about the stuff that would be realistic then I thought of a Broadway car then I said to myself "how will I make it?" Then I thought of a ocean car. My favorite car was the bicycle car that was shown in the picture. I really enjoyed the art car parade.

DeleteI learned a lot about the history of the Art Car Parade today at assembly. I was proud to learn that Houston is the Art Car capital of the world! I was very surprised to learn that there is an Art Car Parade in PARIS! Wow, that is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe parade was spectacular. You could feel the energy as you walked outside of the lower school building! I had no idea that the little ones were going to "wear" their cars. The best thing about the Art Car Parade for me was seeing the creative cars that the students in my class made. I was so impressed with the original ideas for the car themes. Sara's banana split was so very clever. Alexandra C.'s colorful creation made me feel happy. Carolyn intricate bees and flowers were a delight! I could go on and on about each car! Seeing the film crew and camera people only added to the fun! The cherry on top of the parade for me was the flame demonstration from one of the art cars!
I can't wait until next year! Thank you, Mrs. Taylor!

DeleteIt was so fun to see all the art cars. and I probably didn't know 8/9 of what Ms. Forbes told us. I didn't know that Houston's art car parade is the biggest art car parade in the world. I thought that people are so dedicated to art cars and their art cars are amazing. And I had no idea that Houston had a art car museum! The art cars had so much thought and so much hard work so they could make a amazing art car. I also think that it is so cool that we are going to be on channel 13!

Also the banana car was cool and the wagon car was cool.It was fun that we got to make the art cars and I liked that we had so many so many art cars. I aso learned that there was a art car museum and I also learned when the art car parade was.and im glad we had this experience.

DeleteI had a great time! I shoved my car, Hippocaramus, in the camera man's face and I am sure I will get on the news! I will check I am on the news at 4:40. Also parked at the curb were real are cars. One shot fire in the air. And those were the good parts of the Kinkaid Cardboard Art Car Parade. Or if I made a short name it would be the K.C.A.C.P.

DeleteI learned that there were more than 200 art cars. I also learned that we are capital of art cars. I enjoyed looking at the hippo car the wood car. The banana car or the car with all sorts of things on it. These are the things I learned about the cars. First the car with all sorts of stuff has two fire poles. And the banana car comes from Pennsylvania. Blake's car is wooden and it does not have a top. I learned that there is an art car parade in paris! Here is a description of classmates cars. Scotts is a snake car I like the tongue on it. Carolyn's car is creative and colorful and makes me happy! Alexandra c. 's car is the crazy fix it car. She fixed it from a dog into a car with feathers, puffballs and ''springs'' on it. I also liked ava's car the ''flower car'' is VERY good I like it because it has flowers. I liked the parade the pre k kids'' wear'' their car. I also liked the news people I cant believe we are going to be on the news. My car is the tennis ball car. I got the idea from the real one. Oh yeah My favorite one was sara's banana split car THE END

DeleteMy new learning is that 1. there are more art car parade in different areas li like Europe, France and California too. 2. art cars are made out of random parts. 3. I never knew that art cars can be daily drivers. Art cars are cool liked the fire one it cool. The banana car looked like a real banana.

DeleteI thought it was fun to do a mini art car parade. I thought seeing all of the other cars from other grades was fun. I think what Ms. Mary Forbes said about art cars bringing a smile to peoples faces was very inspiring and smart. After the parade we had lunch and then went outside to see real art cars right in the Kinkaid parking lot. My favorite car was the banana car. It looked like a real banana on top of regular car wheels. I also liked the wagon car. It was huge and really looked like a wagon. Earlier in the day we went to assembly and Ms.Mary Forbes said some great facts about the art car parade like: an art car parade is held in Paris! and Houston is the art car capital of the world!

DeleteBefore today, I really didn't know anything about art cars. That changed today. I learned things such as... Houston is the capital of art cars, there is an art car parade in France, some people use their art car as their daily driver and their is an art car museum. My favorite car was the banana car. Also if I was next to Mrs.Taylor I would be thanking her a lot. It was also really cool how channel 13 news and how some real art cars were here at Kinkaid! I really liked Blake's real art car. First of all I had a blast making our art car! I got my idea because football is my hobby and I thought it would be cool if I added a couple of eyeballs. I call my creation Eyes of the Football. I thought the assembly was really cool. Before this I never knew that there was such thing as a art car.

Blake's art car/sled was awesome! The assembly made me want to go to the real art car parade. And all this couldn't be possible without are amazing art teacher Ms. Taylor.

DeleteI had so much fun at the art car parade!!! The Man that owns the banana car said "Go bananas!" because I have two bananas on my art car! At the art car assembly I liked looking at all the real art cars! Before this project I did not know anything about the art car parade! All the cars were amazing and I think everyone in our class did great! I love this tradition! I can not wait for next year! I learned a lot! I liked seeing all of the actual art cars in person to.This year I did a banana split car because I LOVE banana splits! I learned that Houston is the art car capital, that people start off with a normal car and just add, that the art car parade is in Paris and a lots more! I think I know what I am doing next year to! If we did a school art car I think we should do a falcon with it's beak open so the driver can see out the beak. I am so happy that Mrs.Tylor is our art teacher this year and The Kinkaid Lower School is so so super lucky to have Mrs.Tylor as an art teacher because she is awesome!!!
