We
had a wonderful day today at the Houston Heritage Society! We toured
some historical buildings of downtown Houston, and had hands-on
experiences with artifacts from the past!
Write 4 sentences reflecting on your favorite parts of the field trip. What did you enjoy most? What did you learn? What are the parts of the day you will never forget?

I think it was pretty neat to go to the heritage society. We went into an old church and ringed the bell at least fifty times, and we went into a house that was made of wood and you feel like you would get splinters just by looking at it, but nobody did. We also went into an extremely old building that is like a cross between a museum and a library.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the church bell because it is loud.I learned that they had Jacob's ladder which is cool because I have one.I really loved the toys and the Heritage Society.I really liked the ceiling because it looked colorful and beautiful.

At the general store I liked all the toys and the clown piggy ban. I thought the soap saver was cool. I learned a lot but I am not going to write everything because I do not want to write all of it. At the library I thought that all the paintings were very pretty! I thought it was kind of funny that you could not check out a book. I liked a lot and learned a lot at the library and I thought the ceiling was really cool. I thought that all the carvings on the outside of the library were really cool to! ReplyDeleteThe Heritage Society was great! I learned that they used gourds to make things. I will never forget ringing that church bell. My favorite part was when we got to go in the store and play with all of the toys. That was really fun! My favorite toy was the duck. I loved the sound the duck's feet made on the floor.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Heritage society. You got to see a lot of cool things. I look back and think, I am so glad I live in 2013! I loved playing with the old toys. The library was really cool. My favorite part of the field trip was the church especially pulling the rope to sound the bell. I can't believe they used that for a fire drill back in the old days.
ReplyDeleteI thought going to the Heritage Society was so much fun. My favorite thing was the ceiling in the library it was so cool. Another thing that was cool was that they could move houses, I never new that. The thing that I will remember most is that it was the best field trip ever. If anyone asked I will say "you should go to the Heritage Society. It was so much fun, it was a blast."

ReplyDeleteI think The Heritage Society was great! I learned that beds have ropes you have to tighten with a special wooden tightener. I loved ringing the bell, that was the part I will never forget. My favorite part was the store. My favorite thing was the thing where you try to get the ball in the cup, I thought it was a good challenge. I had a great time!
ReplyDeleteWell 1 I really enjoyed the whole field trip. I was fascinated at the church it used to be a school! And they used a bell when there was a fire. It was good to now that the log cabin was made in 1823 I think.
