Pioneer Hour Reflections

I am so proud of each of you! Your journals, iMovies and Voice Thread were thoughtful, historically accurate and VERY entertaining!

Please write three or more sentences about Pioneer Hour today. Which project were you the most proud to share? What was the best compliment you received? What did you think about how we set things up?

  7. I can't really choose a favorite project in the pioneer/native American unit, so hard to choose. I thought the native American iMovie I was in was a little embarrassing for me, but I can deal with it . I was proud really of my journal though, and I no my parents and everyone who read it was to.

  11. I thought pioneer hour was so fun and exciting. I loved showing my iMovie to my parents. I was most proud of my pioneer journal and my illustrations I drew. I also loved how we set up things because it just felt so spacious and not crowded. Last but certainly not least the best compliment I got was from my mom and she said, "I like your illustrations and I LOVE your iMovie!"

  18. I thought pioneer day was very fun for us and our parents! I was most proud of my journal. I like my journal because my mom and I thought it was creative and we both enjoyed it. I wish my parents could have seen the voice thread but at the end I showed my mom a little bit of the voice thread. I LOVED the biscuits, butter, and beef jerky. My parents loved the Native American Imovie. I loved dressing up like pioneers. I think this was a really fun unit. I am also very proud of the wiki. My parents asked why it was called a wiki I told her that wiki in Hawaiian means quick and its a changeable website that anyone can change. At the end when everything was done we can eat with our parents and talk with our friends. I think this was the best and most challenging unit I had ever done!

  19. I loved the way we set up because everything was so easy to get to and I could see everything. I had a lot of compliments on my outfit. My mom said that the journals were amazing and she said we had great imaginations and that they were very creative. I liked Pioneer Day because everyone got to dress up and you would get to see everyones costumes. I liked the butter, honey, biscuits, and the jerky. it was all so very good. I thought it was fun doing pioneer dances at the beginning of the day. I showed my mom the iMovie and the voice thread and she thought the iMovie was hilarious and the voice thread had very interesting facts. My mom learned a lot. I tested her on all the years and she failed. she said that she might have to go back to third grade! I did not have time to show my mom the wiki but I will show her when I show my dad. I was probably most proud of my journal, my illustrations, and my iMovie. my voice thread did not work on the iPad so I did it on the computer. I liked sharing everything with my mom and she liked it to so I hope my dad likes it as much as we did. Pioneer Day ROCKS! (Almost as much as Ms. Papadakes)
