  1. I enjoyed seeing the Native American use hoops to express himself. The hoops represented the circle of life and the culture. They reminded me of our modern day hoola hoops.

  2. Here are some names that people call Native Americans Amerindians, First Nations, Original Americans, Indigenous peoples of America, American Indians. Native Americans that move place to place are called nomadic. Sadly allot of Native Americans are gone because some were killed by invaders and some were killed by deceases brought by Europeans. And spanish explores enslaved entire nations. Many died because European settlers came in and took there land. And the united States governor kicked out more than 60,000 Indians. He also always turned his back on the promises that he made.

  3. I learned how Indians came and arrived in America is still a mystery. Indians adapted to different regions. The Plains Indians hunted buffalo over cliffs. Northern Pacific Indians fished. Some tribes cut down trees to make houses and dug out boats. Outsiders came and disease spread. It could wipe out a whole tribe.

  4. THE TRAIL OF TEARS

Wow the U.S. Goverment killed more than 1,000 indians to get off there lands and march nearly 2,000 kilometers west WOW. well that wasn't one of Amaricas proudest moments. The Cherokee, Creek, Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Semicolen joined together and made the "Five Civilised Tribes" they were fairly peaceful people and alwys dressed nicely in some type of a European style they had a lot of work for instance they would biuld schools, roads, churches and other buildings they stopped huge waves of people who were settelers then ( of corse ) they saw an opportunity to take over the French Land of what is presently Georgia and Tennessee well looks like I have ended .............

  5. Native Americans have lots of unusual tribe names. Like, the Kwakwaka'waka, and Mississippion. And did you know that some people made deals with the Native Americans like if you move west you can keep the land? Which was often a lie. And how they traveled from land to land is a different story. They crossed a land bridge. Also, there were lots of wars going on. The wars were usually for food, land, and lots of other things they needed to service. There was a war called Little Big Horn. They also played a game called Little War. Little War is a lot like lacrosse. Native Americans were called lots of names like First Nations, Original Americans , and lots more. Did you know that when Christopher Columbus first came to America, he thought he was is India, so he called the people on land Indians. That was a mistake. And that name stuck with them for more than 500 years! Some tribes were even in Alaska! That sure surprised me! I found it fun watching videos and getting an idea about Native Americans. Lots of Native Americans died of diseases, and some were captured by Spanish people. I still have lots of lingering questions like did they celebrate birthdays? Was there a jail? Why did they steal babies? I hope I'll learn those things soon!

  7. I cant believe that the United States government kicked more than 60000 people out of their land. The government made them march 2000 kilometers West! How did the Cherokee publish a newspaper? In 1803, the United States bought the Louisiana Purchase. Gold was discovered on the land where the Cherokee were staying. In 1830, Congress passed the Indian Removal Act. The government thought that the people would trade land for smaller bits of land. The tribe leaders were forced to sign unfair treaties. Choctaw was the first to leave followed by the Creek Tribe. The Chickasaw left in 1837 and the Cherokee in 1838. The Seminole ended up fighting a 10 year war.

Indians died on the Trail of Tears because disease, starvation and bad weather .
1/3 of the 15,000 Cherokees died on the trail or in the camps.

  11. It is believed that Native Americans arrived in North America from Russia to Alaska when they were connected. The Europeans brought new diseases that killed many native americans. Native americans are reviving their traditions including hoop dancing and other ceremonies.

  12. I thought it was so weird that c.c. [cristopher columbus] thought he was in india. And he called all the other people indians. I never new it was 10,000 years ago when N.A. crossed the land bridge. It was bad that N.A. were enslaved by espanic people.

  13. Native Americans had to adapt to different regions. Did you know know the Cherokee published a news paper. I thought that was really cool. I think it is mean that they the U.S.A forced the Native Americans to live in reservations. In 1987 congress created the trail of tears. It is a sad story why it is called trail of tears. Here are some of the names that people called native Americans, Original Americans, First Nations, Amerindians, and of course NATIVE AMERICANS. I think it was mean that the Governor broke the promises with the Native Americans. I can't wait to get our tribes and start to study them. I think all of the tribes sound really cool. I wonder who will be in my tribe.

  14. I feel bad for them.

The government made promises they couldn't keep. The Native Americans live in reservations. Some are hunters and some are gatherers.

  15. On 1878, Gold was found on Cherokee land. These are the five civilized tribes Chickasaw, Cherokee, Choctaw, Creek and Seminal. The Government kicked more than 60,000 indians off their land and made them march 2,000 kilometers west. On May 17, 1838, 7,000 troops went to round up the Cherokee for the long journey west.
