Dreams CAN Come True!

In the past two weeks, we met two inspirational men who shared the same message. Even though these men have extremely different careers, they both spent time when they were young thinking about what they love doing.

Mr. Escher and Mr. Yaccarino studied and worked hard to make their passion a career. Dan Yacarrino suggested we take time to close our eyes and think about the thing we most love to do, what makes us happiest.

Please reflect on your interests. What do you love to do? What do you hope you can do every day in your work when you grow up?

  1. When I was young, I always loved playing school! I would make my sisters be my students! When I went to college, I decided to major in education. If I had to decide my career all over again, I would choose teaching, for sure!
I can't wait to read about your interests and your hopes and dreams!

  2. I really enjoy playing baseball. I am on the team Scrappers and I play catcher, outfield and pitcher. When I am older, I want to play on the LA Dodgers. They are my favorite team. I also like the team the Houston Astros. I wouldn't mind playing for them either.

  3. I hope to become an animator because I like entertaining people. I also like art and comics. I like art because I guess I just like doing sketches and because I enjoy seeing them while I am doing them and when there finished! I like comics because I like making up funny stories and seeing people enjoy them!

  5. My two passions are softball and acting. There're totally different things, but I can still make the most of them. For the past three months, I have been doing an acting class at Wildfish Theater. I do softball in my neighborhood and I'm on the team the Leopards. I'm going to keep on acting and playing softball.

With my glove handy and my script in my hand, I happily say ...
    see you next time on

  9. I hope I will go to a good college and have a good education. I also hope I will find a job I job I will like and be passionate about it. I hope to be a football player, Baseball player or chef when I grow up. I also might want to work with my dad at his company some day. When I grow up I want a job that I will like. I learned it is not about the money it is about if your passionate about it and if it is the career you want to have.

  11. I want to grow up to be a singer. I love singing. Sometimes a friend and I write songs. It's really fun. I always sing. I sing everywhere. It always makes me happy. I like to sing every type of song. But, I love to sing pop the most. My dream is to win a Grammy. When I grow up, I want to go on tour all around the world and sing my songs. When Dr. Simpson was here in our classroom, she asked to list two of our worries. One of mine was not singing. If I couldn't sing, that would be one of my WORST nightmares. Both Mr. Yaccarino and Mr. Esher said Dreams can come true. Hopefully for me, that is a true statement.

  12. I think it would be fun to be a baseball player. I have always wanted to play baseball and I love to play it. Right now I am on the Cowboys. I play short stop and I bat first. My parents are always support me and say they will support me in anything I do. I also love baseball so much because of my brother. He loves baseball too. When I was young he would always teach me how to play. He still likes playing catch with me. My sister sometimes comes to my games too. I probably wouldn't like baseball as much if my family didn't support me. If I don't become a baseball player I hope I do something I like and enjoy. If you try hard your dream will come true.

  14. I really like art. I don't know what I want to do when I am older. There are many choices but one of my favorite things is being an artist. Dan Yakorino and Charlie Esher are some of the examples of people who knew what they wanted to do when they were very little.

  17. I want to be a NFL general manager. I know almost everything about NFL football. I want to be a gm for a football team that struggles so I can rebuild the team. If nobody will hire me I will try harder. Somtimes on the weekands I teach my dad's friends. I want to be nothing else. And I will be a gm till I die. If you think I don't know almost everything come up to me and test me. I have wanted to be a gm since I was 2. I started learning when I was 3. Some people might not agree but football is the best sport to me.
