Hook: "It was because of the yellow dress."
ReplyDeleteAs you know, there is a yellow dress on the cover of my new book! This lead really hooked me into the book. Wilfred really was attracted to Grace's beautiful yellow dress at the picnic. He blurts out a marriage proposal at this picnic. I can't wait to find out if he actually marries Grace. I read online that Wilfred meets another lady named Flora that he actually likes a lot. Hmm...Mrs Kuhn said that there are many surprises in the book. I have never read a book about a character whose job it is to plan funerals!
I am reading Candy Makers right now it is about four kids who were entered in this contest and they are supposed to make a candy. They are at a world famous candy factory called Life Is Sweet. One of the contestants is the son of the Candymaker. Every body has good ideas but I wonder who will be the winner. The winners candy will be in all the stores. This week I helped out Gardner. We read a lot of the same books so most of the books I have read he has read but some I have read he hadn't read but he didn't really like those which is ok because every body has their own style. So we kinda just walked around the library. There was this one series I have not read but I hear it is really good so I showed it to Gardner he hadn't read it either so he gave it a shot the book was called Nerds it is book one out a few I don't really knowhow many there are in the series. When we walked out of the library Gardner had 3 books. I hope he enjoys them all.

DeleteIsaac helped me find some books. They are Gabriel's Horses, How Sweets are Made, Million Dollar Shot, and Theodore the Kid Lawyer Boone. I am reading Theodore the Kid Lawyer Boone right now. Theodore is boy who has a dad, who is a lawyer. I haven't gotten far in the book so I don't know the main points or much about Theodore. I had no books for a long time but Isaac came in and helped me.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading old favorites right now. I'm re-reading the Diary of A Wimpy Kid series, I'm re-reading Rodrick Rules in the series now for about my 3 or 4th time. Its about a kid named Greg how thinks he is a great person but he really isn't. Also he has a big brother named Rodrick who pushes Greg around some times. Also he has a lithe brother named Manny and his parents are really protective of so he can't lay finger on Manny even if he deserves it. Anyways it is a very funny book in a journal form and really suggest you try it! By the way if any body has any recommendations I'd very much appreciate to hear them. Thanks :)

Right now i am reading Sweet Feet. It is about a girl named Samantha Gordon and she plays tackle football. It is really cool because she is so fast and beats boys like its no problem. Sweet Feet is Awesome.
ReplyDeleteThis week I helped Audrey find new books. We went to the library and just looked around and found 2 chapter books and found a few craft/art books. Some of the books that I recommended she did not want to read but we just kept looking around the library.
While Audrey and I where at the library I found Out of my Mind and I checked in out because I could not wait longer to hear more of the story. I am like trapped inside Out of my Mind and can't get out which means I can't even open another book cause I am so into it. Hope y'all read the books!
Right now I'm reading a book called "There's a Boy In the Girl's Bathroom." It's about a boy named Bradley Chalkers. He doesn't like anybody and nobody likes him. One day a new student comes to school. His name is Jeff. Jeff is very friendly, so he tries to become friends with Bradley. It didn't work out. One day Mrs. Chalkers signs a form so Bradley can see a new school counselor. They end up having fun together after a few meetings. I'm really enjoying this book and I can't wait to finish it.

ReplyDeleteI am reading The 323 Detective Agency. It's about a donkey named Jenny, a penguin named Priccilla, a sloth named slingshot, a rat named Bluebell and a dung beetle named Roger. They all meet on the 323 train to Whiska City with the dream to become famous. Jenny suggests that they all become detectives. All the animals agree that it is a good idea. Jenny tells Bluebell that he will be good a looking for small clues like bobby pins or finger prints. He tells Priccilla she will be great at acting like somebody she's not for clues. (Priccilla is a big drama queen.) Slingshot would be good at quickly getting somewhere and swinging into hard to reach places for evidence. But Roger asks what good he could do because all he does is cook. "Then you can be our personal chef. Any case that comes to us won't be any good with out a good pastry." replied Jenny. "And I will keep all of the clues in my notebook."

I am reading Nerds. National, Espionage, Rescue, and Defense Society and it is about this kid who is very popular and then he gets braces and everyone calls him brace face. Then one day he was in class and all these people (who are called the nerd herd) sneezed at the same and then ran out of the classroom. The next day the same thing happened but this time Jackson followed the herd. He didn't know where they went though . Then the principle came walking down the hall and Jackson didn't want to get in trouble so he ran and hid in a locker. After the principle left something happened... The floor beneath him fell and he fell into this room. This person said welcome to the PLAYGROUND Then these scientist people tried to get him out of the playground but they accidentally pushed him into a room. There was a little computer thing. He pressed all of the buttons on the computer and then a voice said searching for weaknesses then lasers started scanning him they didn't hurt him. Then it said Dental weakness. It did something to his mouth and then it was done. He finally got out of the room. Later that night Jackson was feeding his dog with a spoon for some reason and the dog wouldn't corporate and Jackson got mad and then something happened. The braces turned into the claws. One claw held the dogs mouth open the other fed the food and then at the end the claws made the dog chew. The Nerds go on missions. Then one day there leader asked Brace Face if he wanted to join the Nerds. Jackson said I will think about it. This is a really good book and I highly recommend it. It is funny, a lot of action and you don't want to set the book down. By the way, I think that the sneeze means there is a mission for the NERDS. You will have to read the book if you want to know what happens next.

I am reading a book called the lost hero it is super good it has lots of action and it is very funny I highly recommend it but if you don't like long this is not the right book for you you and I will tell you a little bit about it so theres a kid named Jason and another kid named Loe and a girl named piper and there parents gods so there called deme gods and thats all i can share bye.
ReplyDeleteGriffen helped me find some books I got King of the Mound it is about a kid named nick and he met Satchel paige. because nick got polio it was hard for him to pitch. I am wanting to start at tim green book called Unstoppable it is a football book.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading the Clementine series. I will tell you about the book Clementine's Letter. It's about Clementine's teacher possibly winning a trip to Egypt. There are other teachers that want to and might win the trip also. The teachers who wanted to go on the trip gave their names to the principal. Clementine remembers her teacher saying that he would be her teacher for the whole year, so she thought the principal made him put his name on the list. But her teacher actually did want to go on the trip.
ReplyDeleteSo all of the students in each class wrote a letter,saying that they want their teacher to win. But Clementine wanted her teacher to keep his promise about being their teacher for the rest of the year. Then they went to the judges place to pick the votes. One student from each class read their letter. Clementine's letter was about why he should not go on the trip and Clementine was picked to read her letter. The judge tried to hand her the letter but clementine said I already know it. And then she started talking about random things. Later clementine released that her teacher did want to go and was sad because she messed it up for him. Clementine's teacher did not win. The kindergarten teacher won unfortunately.
I just finished the book Best of the Best by Tim Green. It is about an especially talented baseball player named Josh.
ReplyDeleteI just started a book called Force Out, also by Tim Green. I am only on chapter six. It is about a boy named Joey and his best friend Zach, who also both love baseball and are very good at it.
At home, I am reading a VERY interesting book called The Musket Boys of Old Boston. It is a historical novel that takes place during the Revolutionary War. The three main characters are Phil Warrington, Andy Sabine, and Ralph Post. They go on an adventure to Boston to see a man who is important to the American army. The reason why is that they overheard a neighbor who was helping the British and gained information to the American army. The book is by Phil Warren. The boys run into many Tories who are people in America who want the British to win, but by helping Paul Revere, Joseph Warren, and other American leaders, they become part of the start of the American Revolution.
I am struggling on reading a book at home. I just finished "Please Write in this Book" and it was really good. I am now starting another one but I forgot the title. It is a comics book where the stick person is in the middle of the ocean with no raft and all of a sudden a raft falls out of the sky.
ReplyDeleteI am reading a book called Divergent. I just finished the part where she cuts her hand open and squeezes the blood into the bowl she has chosen Dauntless. Next morning she jumps off of a moving train on to a building which is how the dauntless get to school then they jump into a hole from the building (sorry thats kind of confusing) That is where I stopped I wonder what will happen next!!
