Respect in Our Everyday Life!

At our last assembly, several teachers gave real life examples of respect in action! Please share an example of respect that you have either seen, heard or witnessed. I can't wait to hear our stories!

  1. Today a second grade boy that I don't know asked me, "Ms. Papadakes, how is your day going?" First of all, I loved that this boy used my name and that he had to courage to start a conversation with me even though I don't know him that well. It made me want to start conversations with other people that I don't know well!

Meg came to cheer me up. I gave her mother flowers when Meg had her brother Will. I helped my brother with home work.

  4. Last night it was my mom's Birthday and we went to a restaurant and we always fight over who`s going to pay. So my dad got his credit card and secretly slipped in the
check folder. So when the guests gave my dad the credit card, my dad said nope not this time.

  6. One time I saw an example of respect was when Mrs. O'Connell had dropped some lunch sticks and Gayle was picking them up. I tried to help, too. Gayle had already picked all of them up. From now on, I want to notice people who drop something and pick it up when I can!

  7. It's respectful when you ask somebody how their day was. Like when my mom and dad ask me how my day was when I come home everyday. Sometimes I ask them how their day was but I think I should ask them everyday. Another witness of respect can be just opening the door for somebody. Or helping somebody take their groceries out of their car. We are all respecting people and things even if you don't notice!

  9. That is a way of showing respect. When I was in pre school the teacher would hold the door and say good morning. And one day I saw a snail and my mom let me keep it.

  10. So, I think that there are many ways to show respect. People at Kinkaid listen so well when a teacher Is talking and they listen the same amount when a student. I think that is important. But like all people we make mistakes too some times we don't listen/value other people answers some times we talk out of turn. But overall Kinkaid respects the action respect. And I hope that NEVER changes!

  14. At conviction when Dr . Trusty told us to never to let the eagle feather touch the ground. In that way he was respecting the eagle feather and the Native
Indians. I saw respect this morning when a little boy held the door for Mr. Karner because he held a largish plant in his hands.

  16. I heard that ms,Papadakes was talking to Ms, O'Connell about the Yeti and it sounded like Ms, O'Connell wanted a Yeti. Ms. P. asked Ms, Holubec's daughter who works at the store that sells Yetis if she could pick an orange one up and surprise Ms. O'Connell.
and she did and it all ends well

and is what I think is respectful

  19. Respect is a great thing. Respect means you value other peoples differences. Once me and my friend Ava where talking about how we would probably beet ST Johns in are soccer game. As we where walking a little boy started to join are conversation. He said "My sister goes to ST Johns. My brother goes to ST Johns to." "Thats interesting." we said. After that we all started to talk. I thoughtt that it was very respectful to let him join are conversation.
