Honesty is the best policy!

Georgina had a tapping feeling inside whenever she thought about stealing a dog. This feeling is her body telling her that she is doing something wrong. If you tell the truth in hard situations, it will feel better than lying.

Please share a time that it was hard to be honest, but you were honest anyway. How did you feel?

  1. I remember a time when I was young when I spilled red nail polish all over my white, very white bathroom. I wasn't supposed to use the nail polish by myself. I did open the bottle by myself and it slipped out of my hands. I tried to wipe with white, very white towel. Then, I put the towel in the trash can! Then, I just went to my room and acted like nothing had happened. My mom came charging into my room and asked, "Did you get into the nail polish on your own like I told not to?"

OH NO! I froze. Do I tell the truth or do not tell the truth. I did tell my mom the truth through a shower of tears! I kept screaming, "I AM SORRY. I AM SORRY!"

She was so mad. We had to repaint part of the wall and get a new white towel. But, in the end, I was glad that I told the truth!

  2. When I was in 1st grade I was in bed and decided to get a bottle of water because I was thirsty. Thats when it started I was opening the SHARPIE to write my name but accidentally opened the SHARPIE to hard! It bonked agents the cabinet and made a "small" mark my mom was in the room right next to the kitchen and herd me! She said "Mary? Is that you " after I had just started to wipe up the cabinet with he paper towel. I said "yes" in a guilty voice I told her what happened and said sorry and asked if she was mad but all she said was "I'll clean it you go back to bed" I grabbed my bottle of water and went back to bed.

"You were doing iPad, weren't you!" My mom said. I got really nervous and I didn't want to say yes. So I didn't say anything. Then I decided to say yes. "Yes." I said. 9. A few weeks ago I accidentally stole a magnet from Ace Hardware. I didn't know I stole them until I looked at my hands. So I did not tell my mom until she heard me laughing to Johnny. Now I know it was dishonest and I will never do it again.

  11. My sister and I were listening to a story my mom was telling us about the birthday squirrel. I listened intently. I talked to my sister about it after my mom had finished telling the story. We decided to change it to the birthday fairy. It was the day before my brothers birthday. And we put little gifts and little signs and little treats by his bed. Then I went downstairs and told my mom. She laughed. And I have never told my brother. My sister and I have managed to keep it a secret (for now.) In a way I was not honest with my brother but was honest with my mom.I will see you in class tomorrow, bye!

  14. When my sister tied the cat in a towel and lied for one second and then she confessed. That she had done it and me and dad and mom all thought that she had done it. Because she loved doing stuff with the cat.
