Reading is social!

We just started Book Clubs!
There are many reasons that I LOVE Book Clubs! As an adult, I have been a member of many book clubs in the past.

Please share with us some of your thoughts on the joys of reading books and sharing with others. Also, you can share some of your first impressions of the characters in your book.

  1. I love Book Clubs because I can share my thoughts about characters. Fiction clubs are especially interesting because we can read about things that we would never do! My first impression of Nick is that he is very mischievous! I have known many students that remind me of Nick!

Really glad that we are doing the book clubs. They are really fun. And I really glad that his face was so helpful and she recorded it. I will see you tomorrow

    1. I love reading clubs! They are so cool. In my group we are reading Wild River. It is a rellay good book. I think everyone is going to like reading clubs. I love reading new books. As everyone who is reading Wild River knows, the two boys are totally different. One of them is sixteen. He is very active and always have a smile on his face. He could not be happier. He loves to go out side and has lots of friends. His name is Tanner. His brother is twelve years old. His name is Ryan. All he likes to do is to play video games and to stay in side all of the time. He is a little rude some times. He is always trying to irritate his brother. But he never gets irritated. They are both totally different. I prefer Tanner more. He just seems relay kind. I do not like Ryan at all. He just makes me irritated. I relay like the book.
      See you guys tomorrow :)

  6. I am currently reading Wild River. Tanner and Ryan are very different. They are like the exact opposite of each other. Ryan likes video games and indoor things. Tanner likes outdoors and sports. So far I think Wild River is a very interesting book. I enjoy being in book clubs. I have been in two book clubs this school year. It is fun to share with others my own personal connections with characters in the book.

  7. I really like Wild River! There are 2 mane characters named Ryan and Tanner. Ryan is all moan moan moan but Tanner is always happy! I think it would be hard to be Ryan's friend But it would also be hard to be Ryan and have Tanner as a brother because Tanner is basically Mr.Perfect and Ryan, he's not exactly Mr.Perfect! I think Ryan is jealous of Tanner and that is why he is so moan moan moan! See you guys tomorrow!

  8. In my group, we are reading Wild River. I have read two chapters of it. In the end of chapter two, there is a big, jagged log right in the path of Tanner and Ryan's kayak! No doubt they crashed! It is getting so scary!

  9. I am reading Stone Fox there. There are two main characters named Little Willy and Grandfather. The grandfather is not getting out of bed and he can't talk so they use hand signals. Little Willy has to run the farm by him self it is a lot of work he even dug up one hundred potatoes with his bare hands. They also have a dog named Searchlight.

  10. I love reading in book clubs and private. In book clubs I like to read and then I write brain tracks. I thought Nick was a very kind person and very well behaved but when he got a little to decorative he got into trouble. Nick is the kind of guy that takes a step that is perfect then later he puts a notch a little to high.

  11. I like Nick because he is mischievous. When he turned Ms. Deaver's room into a tropical island that gave me the idea he is mischievous. I also think Nick does not like home work because he comes up with schemes and questions that take long periods of time to answer. Questions to ask right before the bell rings! I did not write this character trait down but I will write it tomorrow I also think Nick is kind because he apologizes to Janet when Ms. Avery blames her for the red winged blackbird peep. I love Frindle and am so exited to read more!

  12. I am reading Stone Fox. I think Little Willy is persistent. Like when he said " I can find out I know I can!" it was not that but you get what it. I also think he curios because he was always wondering what Doc Smith was pulling out of her bag to help Grandfather. I also think he is helpful because he is always trying to help his grandfather and make him want to live again.

  13. I am reading Stone Fox. Grandfather is funny because he dressed up as a scare crow for 3 hours. Little Willy strong because he pulled all the potatoes. Searchlight is smart because she knows what grandfather does with his hands.

  14. I just started reading the book Frindle. Nick is a trouble maker and also creative. In the beging Nick decides to turn Miss Deaver's room into a tropical island. Nick could get caught and he is not suppose to do. I also think Nick is creative because he thought of the idea to turn Miss Deaver's room into a tropical island. Mrs Granger is a teacher. Mrs Granger is poor because she lived alone in a tinny house. She is passionate because she loves the dictionary. I like book club because you get to work as a team. There is always a friend by your side to help.
