  1. I am so excited to start reading a book call Mindset! I was at a class at Rice University last night. The teacher of the class said that Mindset is one of the very best books that he has read lately. The book's big idea is that people can keep getting smarter and more talented with more time and practice. I am also reading a book about the life of Saint Nectarios, the Orthodox patron saint of cancer healing. It is so interesting to read about the life of such a holy man. Of course, I continue to read newspapers and Time magazine! What is in your stack of reading books?

  6. I love independent reading. But I am currently not in a book :[ I would appreciate if you would give me recommendations. I finished the Hunger Games it is quiet scary. In the Hunger Games it is set in the future where there are 12 poor and powerless districts a one powerful and rich capital. Anyway every year the districts have to send one boy and one boy in to the Hunger Games and in the Hunger Games they have to kill each other until there is one winner. I love Independent reading!!

  8. Right now I'm reading Riding Freedom. It is so good. Next I want to finish Echo. It is really long. It is written by Pam Munoz Ryan. Im wondering what will happen next in Riding Freedom. I think that it is really sad that Charlotte's parents died in a wagon accident. There are so many stories about orphans! Im surprised that Charlotte survived several fevers.

Her best friend Ellen, is Jewish. Three years ago when Annamarie was seven, soldiers came to Denmark. King Christian tried to stop them but he could not. One day the Nazis were going to take all of the Jews away. Ellen's parents had to go hide away. Ellen and Annamarie had to pretend that they were sisters. That is all that I gave read.

    1. I read a sample of that and I really want to read the whole thing! I like how Mia said she sees her sister Beth's name the color of mud and that one of the reasons she made friends with another girl was the color of her name.
