Fairy Tales!

I am excited to begin our fairy tale and fractured fairy tale unit! This is my first time to teach this unit!

Please share a favorite fairy tale if you have one. Tell us why you like it.

Also, please share any experiences that you have had with fairy tales. Do you remember your mom or dad reading fairy tales to you? Do you remember hearing them in a certain grade at Kinkaid?

If you are like me, you may not have much fairy tale experience. Let's get the fairy tale talking started!

  7. I do not have a favorite fairy tale. But I love the one we read today. I loved that it has the three things in it twice. It might be my favorite fairy tale. I do not remember my mom and dad reading me fairy tales. I am not sure if I am going to like this unit. Because last time I dealt with fairy tales I did not have too much fun with it.

  9. I love fairy tails! I would have to say that my favorite is Beauty and the Beast. My parents always read it to me and we really enjoy it. I love how it shows all the mindsets and it's just a beautiful story in general. I know a lot of fairy tales such as Jack and the Beanstalk, Hanzel and Gretel, Rumplestiltskin, Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Rapunzel, Little red riding hood, Into the Woods, Sleeping Beauty, and more! I can't wait to fracture some fairy tales and I hope you can't either!

  10. I don't really have a favorite fair tale, but I do like the fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin. I also like the fairy tale Rapunzel, I am not sure if it is called that though. But the tale is still a good one! I like Rapunzel because it has a lot of magic, and it is about a girl who was born with really, really abnormally long hair, which has magic healing powers. So one day when Rapunzel was in her crib, mother Gothel stole her! So ever since that she lived in a very high tower. With Mother Gothel, there is more to the story but that is just the beginning of it. Other reasons I like it is because there is a lot of adventure, and lots of dramatic things! I like Rumpelstiltskin because I felt that it was kinda funny that Rumpelstiltskin thought that the Queen would never get his name right, so I kinda thought that was funny. That is a reason why I like it!
I don't remember the names of stories that my parents read to me but my dad says that he read to me Little Red Riding Hood.
In Kindergarten I remember reading a fractured fairy tale about Goldilocks, but I can't remember its exact tittle. -Unaisah Saeed

  12. My dad used to tell me a series of fairy tales he made up himself. It was about 4 warriors named 锲锲(Qie Qie),而而 (Er Er),不不(Bu Bu) and 舍舍(She She)。They lived in the Kingdom of Forest Lake and fought evil creatures called 黑黑(Black Black) . They had a wise old tree that helped them fight Black Blacks with a library filled with information on different Black Blacks and special weapons the 4 warriors could borrow. My favorite tale was when the 4 warriors fought a rainbow Black Black who can shoot colorful blinding lights. There are about thirty tales right now and he is making up more!

  17. My favorite story of all time is definitely Beauty and the Beast, I love how it teaches us about it dosen't matter what's on the outside it's what's on the inside that counts. I also really like Thumbelina and how it teaches us even if your small you still do big things. I just really like all the story's that teach you something. I can't even name all of them. My parents didin't read them to me, I read them myself when I was in pre-k my parents read books to me and I just learned by myself.

  18. LEAH'S COMMENT:
An experience I had was once my mom read me Cinderella and I kept talking about it even when I was supposed to go to bed. She told me it was time to be quiet and I just talked in a softer voice. Then she told me, "I mean you have to stop talking now," and I just put my hand over my mouth and kept whispering. However, when I was little my very favorite fairy tale was definitely The Little Mermaid.

  19. Andrew A.'s post!

I have been reading Hoop Hustle which is about a kid who likes to show off in basketball. They call him the flash. His friends tell him to stop showing off so much. I am also reading Belly Up and recommend it. It is by the same author as Poached. I just finished a book called Mr. Strikeout which is about a boy who keeps trying to hit the ball in baseball. I liked this one a lot too. I can't wait to read some more.
