  1. I can think of many examples for each stance. So, I am going to be flexible and just choose one! I was empathetic when I made my friend a care package to cheer her up after her surgery. I haven't had surgery before but I tried hard to put myself in her shoes and think about what I might like if I had had surgery. I brought her a fun decorator magazine, shower gel and her favorite candy. She said that she was so excited to take a great shower using the gel, cozy up on her coach and read her magazine while eating the dark chocolate. It made me feel great to do something empathetic and kind!

  2. I was persistent wen I was leaning to ride a skateboard. I was outside playing and for some reason a skateboard poped in my mind. And I thought to my self do I want to ride one? It race thought my mine as I thought. I asked my mom if a could try it out. We went to academy to see what thay had for skabored things. I find the skatbord aisle and search. Then I saw the perficed skatbord. We buy it and I get back home and star rideing. I first start by trying to snd on it. I fell and fell and fell and fell and I was just standing on it! Then I start to push and move slowe and I think that I am going to slow so I push harder and boy did I regret it. I fell hard. I did it agen. THUD! I fell so many time I almost lost it but then I push one more time and I balance and move faster and faster and faster! "I got it!" I yell that was a huge acompalishmen.

  3. One mindset I have showed recently is empathy for my Brother. My mom and dad
went to an Astros game, and I had a babysitter. My Brother, Harrison, threw up and my babysitter called my parents. I put myself in Harrison's shoes by getting him a bucket and washing the sheets. It made me feel great to do something empathetic!

But i kept the ones that are special cards like barry bonds and Bo jackson.
It felt good to give away 860 cards.

  5. I'm choosing flexibility for my mindset. My friends' whole street got flooded by Harvey, and they have no one there, so they can't go trick or treating! So they might be coming over to our house to trick or treat with us!

  6. My friend Eloise was empathetic. She was empathetic when I threw up on her bed. I threw up in the middle of the night and I and to woke her up. Then she woke up and she was happy to help me get to her parents. Thats how Eloise was empathetic.

  7. I showed resilience when I went to sleep away camp and being away from home. The night before camp I was really nervous. I could barley sleep. On the bus ride I made a friend and his name was Tyler. We got to bring all sorts of candy. Finally we got to camp. I met my counselors and realized this was going to be a fun time.

  10. When I had my surgery back in January, Sophie, Emma and Isabel's mom's dropped off a chocolate milkshake at our house. And My mom's favorite coffee for her. They knew I was probably not feeling well and had empathy for me. The milkshake really made me happy because it was hard to chew after the surgery. It is nice to have empathy for others.

  11. I showed empathy when Darla my puppy was sick. I tryed to put myself in her paws. I thought about how people would go out of there way to help me. So I went out of my way to help Darla. We rapped her in a towel to keep her from running away as we feed her through a syringe. She did not like it one bit. She literliy wiggled into the towel and we had to keep pulling the towel down. It made me proud of myself to help my puppy to stay alive. I love her so much.

  13. Oh, wow! There are so many mindset stances, and there are so many examples to go with each of the five mindset stance. I don't know if I even know which mindset stance and example to pick! Well I'm going to be FLEXIBLE and try different mindsets and examples until I find one that l like. My example demonstrates not one but TWO stances, and those stances are resilience and optimism. I showed those stances when I fell, tripped, and broke my wrist by falling on the concrete. Then, I had to get a cast! I learned that casts are hot, itchy, tight, and uncomfortable. But I came back to school next day smiling and in a great attitude. I think I showed resilience by experiencing a setback (breaking my arm and getting a cast), and bouncing back at it. I think I showed optimism by coming back to school next morning with a cast on, and I had a smile on my face and I had a good attitude. I felt so proud of myself because I demonstrated resilience and optimism with a broken wrist! P.S. Here I am, sitting at my computer, typing this down...!

  14. I showed persistence when I learned how to do a dive and a flip. It took me a few weeks to do a dive and a lot of months to do a flip. I started on the side of the pool and then I did them off of the low dive I did it.

My parents said I should stop at 1:00, but I was determined and made it the whole day! I also beat my dad who broke fast with coffee! My mom and I broke fast with candy corn pumpkins. I was happy when I made it through the whole day!
