  1. My favorite part about New Zealand was that they had our art we made in art and that the costumes look so real. One thing I learned about New Zealand is that the Kiwi bird is endangered and that the fur looks like the outside or a Kiwi. Ok now PERU my favorite part playing SAPO and watching them die clothes. Last but not least the souvenirs where AWESOME. Some BK about Peru is that soccer is called fotball. NL New Zealand has Christmas in JULY! WOW I so want to go there. In Peru the red dart frog has enough poison to kill 10 grown men!!

  2. I loved taking field trips to New Zealand and Peru. There may be no more field trips, but we still get to go to two different countries! I liked New Zealand, but I think I was more interested in Peru. In New Zealand, I really liked the Waitomo cave. In Peru, my favorite parts were the Amazon Forest, and the Sappo game. In New Zealand, They believed how Maui lassoed the Sun, and How the Moon took Rona. I wonder if the Nazca lines in Peru were sending a message. What if something strange was going on there? Also, my grandfather was born in Lima, Peru, so he knows a lot about it. I would really like to visit one of those one day, but if I could choose one, I would probably choose New Zealand.

  12. I loved International Fair! My favorite country was New Zealand. One fact about Peru is that in Lake Titicaca there are islands that are man made and people live there! Another fact is the Peruvian people believe there is a magical frog that lives in Lake Titicaca. It is called El Sapo. If you throw a gold coin in its mouth it will grant you a wish. A fact about New Zealand is that there are 500 volcanos surrounding New Zealand! That's a lot of volcanos! Also they have Christmas in the summer! New Zealand has a lot of sheep. But I wonder how many sheep there are. If I could go to one of those counties right now I would go to New Zealand. Which one would you go to?

  16. I don't know how I can say this, but this International Fair was so fun, and I don't know how the Kinkaid moms manage to put this together, and I just want to tell them thank you for all of their hard, hard work.
Every year, I tend to like one country better than the other, but this year, I just can't choose!
    Let's start with Peru:
    1. The ancient FLOATING ISLANDS!!!!
Seriously, a weed that grows along the muddy riverbed of Lake Titicaca (an ancient river that is often included in legends that originated from Peru) is enough to hold up- never mind construct- houses, huts, and even an entire man-made island?????
    Wow. I mean it.
The moms were really kind and I loved learning the interesting facts that they told. We got to hold maracas that were made out of some cowrie shells (I think) and play rainmaker thingies. They were long sticks that, when you turned them on their sides, made a rattling noise that sounded like musical raindrops in a rainforest.
    2. The ancient ruins of the mountains of Machu Picchu, and the 'long, tiring' hike through the trail (that led to a fun market)
In there, we saw the ancient Inca temples in Machu Picchu, and after a while hiking, we got to a tiny market. There, we saw llama wool tied into yarn, and we saw them grind a sort of bug into powder.
Then, you can put the wool into a small cup, fill the cup with water, pour the powder in, and mix with a stick.
Eventually, you could lift the yarn out of the cup and discover- Voila!- the yarn changed color! That is how the Peruvians make their clothes bright and vibrant.
    3. SAPO!!!!!!!
The sapo game was so fun!
We learned about the different Inca foods.
One of the spices was so strong. I should've plugged my nose.
My wonder is that, what if the Incas used the Nazca Lines in Peru to send messages? That would of been very fun.
I could go on and on about New Zealand, but I would be here all day!
