Art Car Parade!

Please describe your art car and the process that you went through to make it.

How did you get the idea? How did you plan it out? Was any part of it surprisingly difficult or easy?

  1. I love the Art Car Parade. I made a flower car. It was a little difficult. The easy part about making the flower car was the petals. All I had to do was cut out pink crafting foam. A difficult part was making the stem of the flower. I got the idea by looking outside then I saw some flowers. So that's how I got my idea. I tried a lot of different cars but they were all to big for the size limit box I was very flexible and I am very proud of my car.

  2. I was originally going to do a robot. But I changed it into a guy sitting like he's in a wheel chair. I was going to make the wheels look like they were for the car and the wheel chair. He also has a bandana Adidas shorts and a gold jacket with a black hoody. I enjoyed making my art car!

  4. I love art car parade! My art car is a bathtub. How I got the idea I saw bubble wrap and I got my idea. When it came to decorating time, there was no more bubble wrap.. Instead I crumpled up clear tape for the bubbles. Then I made a duck out of craft foam and it was complete!

  7. I am so excited for the Art Car Parade! Last year, we had Eyewitness news come out and put us on the news. Mrs. Taylor said that might happen this year. My art car is called the silver, gold, and green car. I painted it silver and gold, and added some green designs to make it look like a garden. I had some trouble when my wheel fell off and I had to glue it back on. But It's good now! In Pre-K, we made cars that went around our body. In Kindergarten, we made tiny wooden cars. In 1-4, we are making art cars out of cardboard boxes. In first grade, I made a dog car and called the dog Mae. In second grade, I made a candy car (It was small.) This year, I made the silver, gold and green car I mentioned. I can't wait to see the other people's cars! I know that there will be real art cars there too! I can't wait to look at them! I've never actually gone to the parade, but I hope I can go this year!

  9. My art car is my pet unicorn car. I made the wheel so it actually works. I put a string on it and it made it look like a leash. I also put a collar on it, too. Making the wheels were surprisingly hard. I had to find the right materials to make them actually move. At first, I thought it was impossible but then I tried again and it work. During the Art Car Parade, I'm going to pull it like a dog. I also made it a bone, ball and food. I cannot wait for the Art Car Parade!

  10. My art car is called the Narcycle and it is a narwhal motorcycle. I got the idea of a straw thing and thought I could make it into a narwhal horn and I made it happen with cups, pipe cleaner, straw thing, boxes, craft foam paint and tinfoil. I made myself riding the narwhal but it turned out it was a problem. I could not get myself to stick so I ended up using tons of tape but it was worth it in my opinion. I drew the face of the narwhal and myself on craft foam. I ended with painting my hair the tape the horn and the tail. that is how I made my art car!

  11. My art car is a bunny. I named her Angel. She is a snow bunny with brown spots. The process was fun. It took a couple of days, but it was worth it. I got the idea of it because I wanted to make an animal but I did not know what animal. So I went to the supply station and I saw a fake snowball. I thought wow this will make a good tail. So I thought about what animal has that tail. A bunny's do I said to myself. So I planned and planned until I got the right idea and the color and shape. So I put the base into the size limit box and it fit. I was all of the mindsets. It was a easy had project. I cannot wait until the art car parade!

  12. I LOVE making art cars, and I am so excited for this year's annual Art Car Parade at Kinkaid! Making Art Cars is a really fun project, and I planned and planned until I got an idea that I really liked.
Last year Eyewitness News came to the school and filmed it. We were on the television! Mrs. Taylor said that they would come again this year.
I remember that I made a popsicle car in second grade, but this year, I wanted my art car to be a random art car, with random things on it. I really think my car was easy to build because all I had to do was make two small cardboard boxes and taped them together. I painted it metallic colors.
The fun part for me was when it was time to decorate!
Since I was making a "nonsense" car, I could glue lots of random things on!
But the hard part was that we could only use ten parts to glue on our cars.
Luckily, I had made my car very small, so I could glue larger things on and make it look complete!
I found a box with funny materials in it. I ended up gluing a plastic snake to my car. I even made the pom-pom wheels fit on the car!
I think all of us were really optimistic.
Now, I just can't wait for the Art Car Parade!

  13. To make my art car I had to get 2 cups a cardboard circle foam and some black, orange and green paint. To make my skateboard, car I cut the cups in half made a long rectangle with the cups for the wheel. I cut the circle in half. Next I duck taped the wheels then I used the foam and cut it in to a car shape. Then I used more duck tape then I painted art cars are awesome.

  14. First of all, I thought what my car should by. Then I sketched my car and it looked messy. Then I got a base and the wheels. It took a long time to think
of what wheels to do. It did not that long to do the main tower. I love art car!

It was going to be a fancy person because I didn't know how to make the right arm so I made it into a celebrity art car. I can't wait for the Art Car Parade!

  20. I loved a lot of things in third grade but one of the best things that I experienced was when we got to do bridge breaking. Another thing I liked in Third grade was 30-G. And I loved specials and Lunch. In one of the best things about third grade is that you get more freedom.
