Comanche Conversation!
The Lords of the Plains were highly skilled horsemen and expert hunters! They ruled the plains! Please share what you have learned so far in your research.
I have learned that they were great horseman and warriors and they were nicknamed lords of the plains because a lot of the land in the great plains was claimed for comancheria
They stole the Spanish's horses. I also know that they were called lords of the plains. They live in tee peas.the tee peas are made of buffalo with drawling on the side. they use sicks to keep the houses up. they are easy too take down and put up because they move a lot. The men fight while the women collect berries, nuts, corn, beans and other crops. they live on flat land. It's so dry that it is almost a desert. there´is not much water so they get most of there water form cactus. I can't wait to study about The Comanches!!:)
I learn that the Comanches live on the southern part of the Plains. Today there are about 14,500 Comanche living in the United States Most of them in Oklahoma. The Comanche used bison to make there tools. I found a website in the book Comanche the website is www.comancheindain.com. I love the Comanche.
Now all Comanches live in Oklahoma,California, and New Mexico.1700 Shoshone broke off and formed Comanche.Little Comanche boys would learn to ride horse's before they could walk. They loved to put face paint on their face's.Men wore a leather belt with a breechclout a long piece of buckskin that was brought up between the legs and looped over and under the belt at the front and back.Fitting deerskin leggings were worn down to the moccasins, and tied to the belt.they wear tons of clothes on top of each other. And the clothe are made of deer skin and lots of other things
