Shawnee Sharing!
These nomadic Native Americans roamed the forests with other Eastern Woodland tribes. They certainly had troubling times with Europeans like the other tribes! Please share some fascinating facts that you have learned so far.
I absolutely LOVE doing the native American research about the Shawnee tribe here is som things that I know already about them, I have this paper that I printed out once and it is about this cool fight called The Battle Of the Teppecone it is really cool! I really don't know that much about the Shawnee tribe so I might just say some things I know about Native Americans. I think everybody already knows this about now but I'm just going to say it, When the Native Americans first were living here Christopher Columbus was set of on a journey to go around the world and then ended up finding America but he really didn't know that he really thought he was in India and so he called Native Americans, Indians. And ow that is what kids usually call them because they think it is just so much easier to say. I know that there is something in my notebook that I wrote down to remember but I can't really remember what it said I think it said like a chief believed that like the spirits or something would do some weird stuff but I really can't remember so Bye!
I like learning about the Shawnee tribe. This what I learned. I learned that the Shawnee tribe loved to eat berries and a lot of meat. They used maple sugar to sweeten up there food. General Anthony once fought the Shawnee and drove the out of the woodlands but they came back. The Shawnee now live in Ohio and Missouri. Thats what I learned so far I enjoyed studying the Shawnee tribe.
