  2. I think that it is interesting that they make butter by putting the bucket of cream under the wagon, and by the end of the day, the bucket would have butter in it!

  5. I think it's interesting that they chose to travel all that way west! It's a long road and many people died but we probably wouldn't have all the stated up west if the pioneers didn't travel there and Washington is one of them. We'd have our capital in a different place!

  6. I wonder if devil's backbone, a mountain that was almost too narrow for a wagon to cross, had any steep hills or crevasses.

  8. I learned that since when you put the milk in the wagon it gets shacked into butter along the way. And they brought a cow with them so they get fresh milk not butter. Also what I learned is that if you went to early in the season there would be not as much grass and your oxen, etc would die.

  12. I think that it's kinda interesting that you can only take important things on your trip but I do understand that somethings would be to heavy for the animals that were pulling the wagon but I can't think of leaving my things behind it sounds terrible but they were probably used to it!

  13. I learned that the reasons why people wanted to go on the Oregon Trail was because people told stories about Oregon that made sound like a magical place, people wanted adventure, there was cheap land and in California there was a gold rush. It sounded like fun but it wasn't.

  16. The wagons are also called prairie schooners a schooner is a boat. They call it that because if the grass is tall enough it looks like the wagons are boats floating on a ocean of grass

  18. I know a lot about the Oregon Trail!!! These are the things I know:

-If your traveling on the Oregon Trail, you can't pack much in your Wagon Train.
-There is a leader to the wagon train. His job is to choose when to stop the wagon train should stop or when it should go, and to decide who should guard the wagon train at night.
-A wagon train isn't exactly a train. It is a bunch of wagons put in one big line.
-The most famous trail guide is Dr.Marcus Whitman
-Many people traveled west. Such as farmers, storekeepers, carpenters, bakers, blacksmiths, missionaries, shoemakers, artists, lawyers, doctors, teachers! You name it!
-People wanted to travel to Oregon because:
    *Cheap land
    *New adventures
    *Streams filled with fish
    *Flowers bloomed all year
    *sounded like a magical place
