We are really enjoying our math rotations! Please share what you like about them so far. Do you have a favorite station? Do you have a favorite game so far? WHY do you like it?
What are some great strategies from Reader's Workshop that you use to solve difficult math problems? Do you like to solve problems on slates with a letter as a mystery number?
Oh course, I love all the stations because I made them for you all! When I am working with my group, I love to see you all struggle and then crack the case! Today our group really worked hard to solve a problem that had a pattern. The pattern was a growing pattern with large numbers. I was so glad that the people in the group kept rereading and taking careful notes. I think it was the notes that helped them so the pattern! Is that correct, Luke, Jacqueline, Marion, Georgia and Talan?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is working with you ms.p I love it when there are hard problems like the one today YOUR SOOOOOO AWSOME

ReplyDeleteMy favorite game is Pig in the Lounge and I also like Roll to Zero! They are really fun and you have to know when to hold em. My strategy for IXL is to write down numbers on the slate.
ReplyDeleteI love Math Groups! My favorite station is in the Lounge playing games. My favorite game is "Roll Zero Wins!" I love it because you sometimes start out losing and then sometimes you get back in and end up beating the other player! And normally I reread when I get stuck on a problem. I also sometimes take notes and they seem to help me. See you tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE math groups! My favorite is in the lounge, where we play Pig and Zero wins! I also like going down to the floor with Ms. P when we do algebra. I like these games because we get to have a friend to play with. Some strategies from Reader's Workshop that I use are re reading and taking notes. And I love to solve my problems on a slate with the letter as a mystery number.
