ReplyDeleteI just finished a wonderful historical fiction book called Behold the Dreamers. It is about a your couple who immigrated from a poor country in Africa called Cameroon to New York City. The husband got a job as a chauffeur for a man who works for a large bank. He gets to know the banker and his family as he drives them around town. The young couple from Africa really wants to make a good life in New York, but struggles to make enough money to survive. I really empathized with the couple because my grandfathers immigrated from Greece and also had a hard time getting started in American. I loved this book!
ReplyDeleteRight now I am reading The Good The Bad And The Beagle. She had just moved to a new school and a new place. I am loving this book its about this dog named Cadbury he has a cone their is this girl who wants him. Her parents wont let her because she has got a lot of pets and then she loses all of them. She has a plan to try to get this dog. she visit's the dog every day.

They have to make a book by Monday.
They didn't so they had to call Mister Big Nose.
They are looking for mister Big Nose.

I really LOVE our thirty glorious minutes of independent reading! Today I read a long fiction book in a series I really like, **The Secret Series**. On fact, it is probably my favorite series besides HARRY POTTER! The book I read today is called "This is Not what it Looks Like". It is the fourth book in the Secret Series. It is about a boy named Max-Ernest (Yes, he has two first names) that needs to diagnose his best friend Cass's mysterious condition while puzzling over the whereabouts of the Midnight Sun before it's too late. So we journey into their world and Cass's mind for the race against time, for Max-Ernest, for Cass, for the Terces Society, and for the Secret of life itself. I have already read it but it is such a good book, I (or should I say you, you, and any innocent bystander?) cannot resist! My on- deck book is a story called Out of my Mind. It is about an eleven year old girl named Melody Brooks that has a condition called cerebral palsy. She must prove to her class- and possibly national television- that being disabled does not mean you are not capable.
ReplyDeleteI am loving 30 G right now because i am reading a really good book Big Nate on a Roll. I am almost done which it. Right now nate is in cub scouts and he is raising money for the club. he has to sell wall hangings and if he sells the most he gets a new skateboard. if you read the rest of the book you would now that he lost his skateboard in a river. So he riley wants the new board. But he is up agents mister mic prefect (aka Arthur) and as you can tell he is perfect. So will nate win? i will haft to cep reading to find out.
ReplyDeleteI love 30-G! It's a great time to relax and read. Right now I am reading a book called The Terrible Two. It is about a boy named Miles who moves to a new town called Yawnee Valley and starts at a new school. Miles has a strange principal named Principal Barkin and a buddy named Niles. Niles acts like a great boy, but secretly is super smart and a great prankster. Miles is trying to become the Class clown, but Niles is smarter and knows his every move. Then They start a prank-off. Niles is doing better so far, but Miles could catch up! I can't wait to see what happens next.

I love 30-G !!! it's a great time to calm down after lunch. The book I am reading right now that I just finished The Babysitters Club. It's about Claudia and her grandmother Mimi gets a stroke so she has to put BSG on hold. My book on deck is Marty Maguire has to many Pets! I LOVE READING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE 30-G! Right now I am reading Big Nate. I am also reading Drama and I am reading Clarice Bean Spelling Bee. I am looking forward to reading The 13 Story Tree House, Riding free (Ms. Papadakes recommended at book fair), and No Talking. I just finished Rollar Girl. It was the best book EVER! I love 30-G because it is so calm and peaceful, and because I like reading. I LOVE 30-G!
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading The Great Shelby Holmes.It is the best book in the whole world. I would recommend it to anyone. I am currently reading Tut's Tomb. It is just my level and it is a great book. My mom is even really enjoying listening to it! Next I plan to find a good historical fiction book to read.
