We have been talking about mindfulness this year. Our Quiet Time is a time to relax, fall into a quiet activity and get ready to refocus. Please share your feelings about quiet time.

I really enjoy quiet time and actually look forward to it as a teacher. I love to watch you all choose something quiet to do. Some of you read, some play with legos, others make creative projects with others and the list goes on! It is truly amazing how quickly you all clean up! I like the feeling in my body when I exhale. I look forward to reading your comments!
ReplyDeleteI like to draw in quiet time. I make books or just draw. I think the most relaxing part of quit time is the rag doll. The deep breaths make me fell like I am in space whith noting around and just peac on earth. I like the chime it is fun! If you could cep doing the rag doll and the chime.

ReplyDeleteWhat I enjoy doing during quiet time is building with legos. I'm building a house. The three deep breathes make me feel relaxed. I enjoy the chime because I just like to listen to it.
ReplyDeleteI injoy building stuff like Lego’s during quiet time. It is very relaxing to take three deep breaths and It makes me not as hyper. I like listing to the chime because it makes me remember how relaxed I am every night reading my book and it gets me into a relaxed mood.
ReplyDeleteI like Quiet Time so much! I can think of many things that I really LOVE to do during quiet time so I am flexible and just will choose three of my favorite quiet time activities.
ReplyDelete1. I like creating because my friends in 3-P are so creative! We make so many things just with paper, tape, and scissors. Some of the creative things I like to make during quiet time are newspapers for 3-P and third grade, scrapbooks, pillows, books, etcetera. I love just bringing out the playful side in creativity!
2. READING! I love to read because it is very relaxing and peaceful and that is what quiet time is to me, a calm time where we can relax and fall into a fun activity of our choice. I know each and every one of us somewhere, sometime, will read a book that they enjoy deeply and never want to finish. Savor that moment and see if you want to read at quiet time too! A book that I am reading currently is a book called **Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince**. I have already read it before quite a few times and I am reading it again.
3. Drawing and writing. Some people really like to draw and write in their spare time. You can draw of just doodle randomly. If you are feeling bored, I made a free draw challenge:
1. Draw yourself wearing a spiffy bow tie and a top hat.
2. Draw a monkey eating a banana.
3. Draw a life-size picture of a pencil.
4. Draw your favorite animal eating your favorite animal's food.
5. Draw your dream dessert.
6. Draw a banana split and put toppings on it.
7. Draw a analog or digital clock that shows the real time.
8. Draw a mini mandala about the size of a DVD.
9. Draw yourself wearing a pair of headphones.
10. Draw a certificate for you because you finished this challenge!
The three deep breaths make me feel very relaxed.
The chime is so nice. I like how it hangs in the air because it is calm.

I enjoy drawing and doodling during quiet time. I enjoy how peaceful it is. I like how people are doing different things than others. I love it!!!

At quiet time, I draw, write, read, and more. I think the most relaxing one for me is writing, because it takes me in another world that I create! The three deep breaths is so nice and calming, and helps get myself together. I also love the chime as a bonus, and I think of it as like a kickoff to quiet time!
I LOVE quiet time soooo much! I enjoy a lot of things! Here are some things I do at quiet time:

Right now I am making a series of realistic fiction. In my first book Reese finds out she is moving and is NOT happy about it. So now she lives in a apartment. I am publishing it now.
2. I free draw
Right now I am making a sun set over a mountain picture. It is with marker and colored pencils.
3. I play with legos
I do legos with Finley C., Lyles, and Emma H. I am building a play ground with a picnic table. I love legos!
I love the three deep breaths! They make me fell relaxed also like the cat stretch and the rag doll. I think the rag doll is fun because you squeeze yourself and then you flop down and it makes me relaxed.
I love the chimes sooooooooo much! I wish we could do it other times of the day too. The sound fills the air! I love quiet time!
I like quiet time. It is so fun. I don't really get to do it that much, but when I do get to, I make topo chico money and crafts. The three deep breaths make me feel relaxed and the rag doll makes me feel relaxed too. The chime sounds so fun and relaxing. I wish there was more quiet time.
