Comanche Conversation!

The Lords of the Plains were highly skilled horsemen and expert hunters! They ruled the plains!

  1. My tribe is the Comanche. These are a few facts I am going to share, They live in the great plains. They live in large cone houses called tipis. The Comanches eat napu. It is a mixture of berries and buffalo. They lived in big groups called bands. Bands mean meany families.

  4. Comanche ate a food called Inapu Inapu is berries and buffalo mixed together. Comanche live in cone shaped houses called tipis. Tipis are made of wood poles and buffalo hide. Bands are made of 3000 people. Tipis can be packed up and taken on hunts. Also they eat deer and nuts. They do not have a lot of ceremonies. Some of the ceremonies are for history. They lived in large groups called bands. Bands are named after the food they ate. For example root eaters eat roots.

  5. I learned that the Comanche ate roasted or boiled buffalo meat. Then they cut the rest to dry in the sun. The Comanche pounded buffalo fat and berries to make a food called inapu. They also ate nuts and hunted deer.

  6. Hi. I am going talk about the government, food and clothing, homes, family life, and traditions. The Comanche have a leader for time of war and peace. Every leader from every Comanche tribe to come together and make choices. They had Police. The Chairperson elects people over 18 years old. They make the laws for the Comanche. They have a Business Committee and the Tribe Consul. For the Traditions, they did not gather a lot. Their healing ceremony is called the Beaver Ceremony. For food and clothing they... After the buffalo hunt, they lay the strips in the sun. They pound meat with berry to make Inapu. They also hunt deer. Clothing made out of deer hide.The boys have a breach cloth around the waist. I do not know about the women's clothing. Homes... They live in tipis. They are made of thick wood pole and buffalo hide. The tipis are packable for the buffalo hunt Lived in big groups called Bands. Women did lots of work. Up to 3000 people lived in bands. The bands are named after food like the Buffalo eaters. They helped each other. They hunted together. Band means lots of family.
