  1. Comanche means "Enemy" by Ute tribe. They called themselves nimi or nimini. Their language is a numeric language. They lived in cone shaped houses called teepees. These homes could be packed up and traveled. I can't wait to learn more about the Comanche tribe.

  3. Did you know the Comanche were once part of the Shoshone tribe. Their land involved Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma and New Mexico. By the 1800s there were 12,000 Comanche! Comanche means enemy in the Ute language but the Comanche called themselves ''nimi.'' The Comanche where great hunters and use every part of the buffalo. After a hunt, they roast or boiled some of the meat. They cut the rest into small thin pieces. But some of the meat is dried and pounded together to make a food called inapu. If they don't have anything else to eat, they eat berries, nuts and they also hunted deer.
